About Anthea and Bones Malone

I’m Anthea, a dedicated dog handler who embarked on an incredible journey from knowing very little about dogs to having a wealth of knowledge to draw from to help others. My pursuit of understanding effective training methods led me to some exceptional mentors, whose guidance continues to shape my professional development in the field of dog training.

Bones Malone, my beloved American Staffy, has a story that’s equally remarkable. He was found on the streets at just four months old, emaciated, and struggling with significant behavioural issues. Today, Bones’ life has done a complete 180, and he’s thriving like never before. He’s not only overcome his past challenges, but has become a shining example of the transformation that’s possible with the right care and training.

Bones is now a proud participant in dog sports and a trusted companion on camping adventures. With his impeccable behaviour, we can give him the freedom to roam off-leash, knowing he won’t stray and won’t chase wildlife. This makes me wholeheartedly committed to sharing my experience, knowledge, and passion to help a wide range of dogs live their best lives, alongside their owners.

How do you know you can trust Me?

I’m wholeheartedly committed to improving the lives of as many dogs as possible, even if that’s in the tiniest way. I’ve done everything in my power to improve the quality of Bones’ life, despite not being a dog aficionado when Bones came into my life.

I now lead both the HonestHounds monthly walks here in Melbourne, Australia as well as my GRC Club (GRC Melbourne). Both of these communities are ones that have helped Bones thrive, and I strive to continue supporting these, and others like them. In addition to that, I have attended seminars, or been mentored by industry leading dog trainers like Jay Jack, Pat Stuart, Alex Edwards and Sigrid Herbst.

Join me on this incredible journey of discovery, learning, and transformation, and let me be your trusted guide in the world of dog training and companionship. I’m excited to share our story, knowledge, and dedication with you, so you can forge a stronger bond with your four-legged friend and experience the joy and fulfilment that comes with it.

“Dog training is a never-ending process of evolving.”
